Going viral is usually a gigantic waste of time.

If you’re in B2B, your goal is not to receive a small amount of attention from tens of millions.

You want the deep and thoughtful attention of hundreds, maybe thousands.


So what happens when you ‘go viral’, what’s that like?

You get interview requests from the local paper.

You’re asked to speak on a bunch of random podcasts.

You’re now ‘trending’ on LinkedIn (and/or Twitter).

You have 1000+ comments to respond to, which takes you like 2 days.

Hundreds of messages flood your inbox.

Thousands of new random people (that have nothing to do with your business) start following you.

Your entire next week and a half is filled with off-the-wall calls that ended up on your calendar.


Very often, 0 legit leads are sourced from this.

Again, it’s a giant waste of time.

Don’t try to go viral.

Try to be heard and understood by a few people that matter most to you and your business.
